Senior Vice President, Accounting - Corporate Solutions

Role Location: Apex Sweden

Department: Corporate Solutions

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

The Role

This is a senior operational role within the Corporate Solutions pillar of Apex and has a wide array of responsibilities including, but not limited to, leading a function with responsibility for delivering governance, fiduciary, accounting and administration support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage direct onshore reports and work closely with offshore indirect reports to ensure a high quality and excellently co-ordinated service is delivered to client relationships
  • Providing technical support to the administration team on all aspects of client service, particularly with respect to financial accounting and tax
  • Oversee the full lifecycle management of corporate structures, from incorporation and formation, to include adherence to AML, day-to-day administration, domiciliation, financial accounting, cash management, and payment processing
  • Establish, cultivate and manage strong relationships and networks with intermediaries and internal contacts,
  • Lead the Corporate Solutions function locally with responsibility for the development and leadership of the team members
  • Attend industry training as is required to ensure that you have and maintain the appropriate technical knowledge required to perform your role and to understand the regulatory obligations to which you are subject to
  • Prepare monthly performance reports on service delivery for Group-level review
  • Reviewing and preparation of annual financial statements to required standard and deadlines
  • Performing and overseeing ongoing accounting activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
  • Review transaction documents to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • To obtain internal and external stakeholder feedback and drive increases in client satisfaction and engagement
  • Ensure the timely and accurate resolution of any internal or external issues and ensure effective open and clear communication processes are in place
  • Continuously challenge existing practices by promoting efficient use of our systems and processes to enable growth and facilitate the expansion of our capabilities
  • To understand relevant accounting standards, laws, practices, treaties, and regulations that underpin our client requirements
  • Establish and maintain sound motivational people management practices. Ensure employee development is aligned to business objectives and oversee and measure effective work processes and practices within the team
  • Review service delivery against the client fee structure and escalation service creep where applicable
  • Coordinating with our Sales team when identifying new business opportunities and or the development of our services
  • Any other duties in the scope of the role that the company requires

Skills required:

  • A minimum of 5 years overall experience in a similar role and at least two years' experience acting on client entity boards
  • A professional accounting qualification and good understanding of both local and international accounting standards and tax regulation
  • A track record of developing revenue from new and existing clients
  • Excellent networking, communication, organisational and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to build and manage a team
  • A good understanding of Swedish company law and other related legal and regulatory requirements as well as a working knowledge of relevant Swedish tax issues
  • A keen awareness of risk issues in the context of fiduciary responsibilities
  • Motivated and driven with an ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and demanding financial targets
  • A willingness to travel as business needs dictate
  • An ability to embrace and execute change while providing support to employees through the process
