Job Description

Be a Team Player and leader through participating in the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring process, providing supervision, support, and training to the inventory team members
Serve inventory team by ensuring instructions and expectations have been uniformly established, hold team members accountable for meeting standards in accurate counts, records, costing, and evaluations of plant stock.
Own an incident-free environment by emphasizing safety daily, leading by example, involving all team members, promoting a safety culture, achieving excellent housekeeping and workplace organization, and executing clear safety policies.
Responsible for accurate inventory and cycle counts of all plants.
Manage the photography of plants for the availability list and ensure it is updated periodically as required.
Receive, review, evaluate, and record reports daily for quantity, quality, location, and sale readiness of all plants.
Predict and project plant ready dates and ensure plants are available in the system and on appropriate lists when they are ready for sale and the sales force is informed.
Assist managers to determine when plants are ready to ship to customers.
Inspect, evaluate, and record all re-wholesale incoming deliveries, report quality and quantity to the re-wholesale buyer.
Publish and distribute up-to-date plant information to the sales force on a timely basis.
Recommend plants for the sales team to promote.
Manage plant reservations for quality and availability based on customer specifications and provide feedback to the internal team.
Coordinate with other departments on plant needs and plant health readiness,
Maintain open communication lines with the sales teams.
Predict potential inventory problems and inefficiencies.
Secondary Job Functions:
Act as the go-to-person for salespeople regarding quality issues of shipped plants.
Coordinate month-end inventory of plants, raw materials and supplies.
Perform other duties as required to support company mission.
Cross train to assist in other departments during slow periods.
Required Qualifications:
One year experience in inventory management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Strong communication skills to effectively connect with all business associates in a multi-cultural environment
Excellent organizational, math and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Three years of hands-on nursery experience
Technical college certification in related field
Associate degree in Horticulture
Working knowledge in inventory management systems and ERP implementation
Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending
Use of hands to operate a computer, telephone and other office equipment
Specific vision abilities: close and color vision due to computer work
Ability to work outside for 50% of the work day
Ability to lift 30 lbs. occasionally
Ability to work in all weather conditions, such as heat, cold, wind and rain, and do so in a safe manner
Must be able to drive nursery vehicles around the farm; and to travel occasionally.
Must maintain a valid state driver's license with a good record
