Description:

Position Purpose:

The ECSC Registered Nurse (RN) provides trauma-informed, client-centered nursing care. The RN supports individuals experiencing psychiatric, emotional, or substance use crises by performing assessments, administering medications, monitoring physical and mental health status, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely, appropriate care.

What You Will Do:

  • Evaluate persons-served response to medications, in consultation with the ECSC psychiatrist, CRNP, and work directly with the psychiatrist/CRNP to conduct medication evaluations on clients.
  • Complete individual client/family crisis assessments and manage crisis intervention situations effectively and as needed.
  • Deliver quality care and therapeutic interventions to persons-served with fidelity following a model of mental health care delivery by way of telephone, in the community and/or office setting.
  • Administer and monitor medications, including psychotropics and emergency medications, as ordered by the prescriber.
  • Collaborate with physicians, prescribers, behavioral health staff, and peer support to create and implement stabilization plans.
  • Document all care and interactions clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Provide health education to clients.
  • Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations including HIPAA, and adhere to organizational policies and ethical standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer documentation and electronic health record systems.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and persons served needs.
  • BSN in nursing and 1 year of nursing experience OR RN license and 2 years of nursing experience. Medical experience a plus.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license.
  • Valid driver license
  • Ability to drive an organization vehicle
  • Act 33/34/74 Clearances (Criminal/Child/FBI Department of Human Services)
  • Pre-Employment Drug Screen
  • Child Protective Services Law training (CPSL)
  • Working Knowledge and understanding of medication used in treating psychiatric disorders
