Job Title: Commercial HVAC Subcontractor Technician

Location: Portland, OR and surrounding area

Job Type: Subcontractor (1099)

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and installations of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ventilation systems, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time, materials used, and any recommendations for further service or repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding the scope of work, findings, and recommendations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
  • Manage your own schedule and ensure timely completion of assigned jobs.
  • Provide necessary tools, equipment, and transportation to perform the required tasks.
  • Adhere to Company administrative standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an HVAC Technician.
  • Valid Oregon and Washington State specialty electrical license for HVAC work. Additional city-specific licenses may be required depending on service areas.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification for handling refrigerants or Universal.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC principles, electrical systems, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.  
  • Ability to pass a background check.
