Essential Duties

RESPONSIBILITIES

The job's essential or most important functions and responsibilities. Included are all-important aspects of the job--whether performed daily, weekly, monthly, or annually; and any that occur at irregular intervals. The following essential duties do not cover an all-inclusive list of work requirements. Individuals will perform other job-related duties as assigned, including work in other areas to cover absences or otherwise balance the workload.

  • Maintain a basic knowledge of all Kleberg Bank products, services, procedures, policies and appropriate regulatory issues relating to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy; Fair Lending; Regulation E; deposit, transaction and loan accounts.
  • Continually meets customer service expectations by offering excellent service to both external and internal customer requests.
  • Follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer-servicing activities performed.
  • Manages an array of telephone inquiries from both customers and non-customers.
  • Prepare proper documentation as needed for customer's inquires.
  • Acknowledge selling opportunities and effectively cross-selling products and services.
  • Processes online banking requests, including online banking applications, verification of deposits, secure messaging, custom cards, fax and mailed correspondence.
  • Process incoming account documents making sure the documents are complete and in compliance with bank procedures.
  • Maintain the integrity of the core system and input system changes when requested.
  • Risk management and review of all deposit and loan transaction account activity including online banking applications, ATM and Mobile deposits, kiting, and uncollected funds activity, posting accuracy, image archive and retrieval, and document management activities.
  • Processes ACH and AFTs for loans payments.
  • Accurate processing of all accounting entries for loans and/or deposit general ledgers. Identify, research, and resolve transaction discrepancies. Learn the Jack Henry platform program.
  • Must have ability to learn Relationship Banker duties. Adhere to established standards, policies and procedures.
  • Deliver strong community visibility. Represent and support Kleberg Bank's effort to help the communities we serve to be the community of choice for families and businesses.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required: High School Diploma and minimum of 1 years related experience and/or training in banking or related industry. Must be competent and knowledgeable in branch operations policies and procedures.

Preferred: College degree and 5-7 years management in Banking or related industry. Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in a financial institution in administration, compliance, security, center operations management, bank operations, and bank supervision.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to comprehend basic math principles.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to think quickly and respond to various customer and employee situations without compromising the Bank's integrity. Consider alternative courses of action and makes the best choice; tackles problems or issues directly and makes decisions in a timely manner.
