Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner
  • Operates conventional, fluoroscopic or radiology equipment to obtain images of designated body parts according to physician specifications and/or orders
  • Assists with acquiring and opening product during procedure based on physician needs and orders; maintain supplies
  • Demonstrate critical thinking ability to plan and implement patient care
  • Ability to multi-task, complete all tasks in a timely manner
  • Educate patients regarding the procedures
  • Create and maintain patient electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Ensure images are in the PACS system
  • Maintain quantity and quality control checks to assure imaging unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.
  • Clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining repairs needed to equipment.
  • Protect patient and other personnel from radiation hazards

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma/GED

EXPERIENCE

  • 1 or more years of interventional radiology or related experience
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system knowledge helpful

REQUIREMENTS

  • ARRT Certification in Radiography
  • Arizona State license
  • BLS Certification (AHA)

KNOWLEDGE

  • Medical terminology
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of diagnostic radiographic procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic chemistry, film apparatus, and film processing techniques.
  • Knowledge of how diseases and injuries are diagnosed and imaged radiographically.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy.
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
