Senior Project Engineer – Custom Robotics & Automation
Location: Brown Deer, WI (100% onsite)
Schedule: Full-time, permanent W-2; no relocation; must be U.S. citizen or Green Card holder
Pay: Up to $90,000 annually; full benefits
About the Role
Join a tight-knit engineering team dedicated to turning cutting-edge custom automation and robotic machinery from concept to reality. You’ll design, prototype, and see your systems built on-site, directly impacting global customers and driving your career forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Mechanical Design: Own end-to-end SolidWorks modeling and drawings for custom automation and robotic work cells, ensuring accuracy from concept through production.
- Project Management: Coordinate multiple design projects, balancing scope, schedule, and resources to meet delivery targets and overcome engineering challenges.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, controls, manufacturing, and customers to iterate designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Documentation & BOMs: Generate detailed 3D models, assembly drawings, and comprehensive bills of materials.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive enhancements to design standards, processes, and workflows to boost quality and efficiency.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Design Experience: ≥ 5 years of custom machine design using SolidWorks, delivering turnkey solutions.
- Automation & Fabrication: ≥ 2 years working with automation systems, welding processes, and direct customer engagement.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient in machine tool fundamentals, material science, power transmission, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Work History: Demonstrated reliability and a track record of delivering complex engineering projects.
- Location & Eligibility: Residence within a 45-minute commute of Brown Deer, WI; U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.
