Summary:

Responsible for directing and managing activities at all design center locations in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Analyzes sales statistics to determine customer preferences. Responsible for supporting all design center(s) processes, operations, sales, training, etc. by working with each Design Center, Builders, Market Managers and Account Executives.

Essential Functions:

New Showroom Training and Staffing- Responsible for making sure all staff is fully-trained and has all tools necessary to do their job to include the following:

  • Interviewing and hiring staff for new showrooms
  • Process new hire paperwork for HR and computer set up
  • Oversee that all staff is fully-trained on all Builder processes and procedures - from making buyer DC appointments to finalizing buyer at DC
  • Oversee that all staff is fully-trained on ISI and National Builder computer programs and tracking systems - i.e. envision, HDS, Sales Force, DC Tracker and any other software needed
  • Train Design Centers on model home processes and submitting model home contract pricing
  • Oversee for new showrooms commission tracking for designers
  • All other job duties as assigned

Design Center New Build-Out and/or Refresh- Responsible for working with ISI Construction Team on all aspects of design center build-outs and/or refresh of existing studios to include the following:

  • Work with construction team on layout, functionality and displays of showrooms
  • Select all finishes for design studio
  • Create and present to division all selections for review and approval
  • Acquire all option details with division purchasing to vignette in showroom
  • Document and communicate all flooring options to be given to shared services for uploading to HDS programs
  • Attend weekly meetings (via conference call) update meetings with ISI Construction team members
  • Work with corporate National Builder on branding each showroom with marketing displays
  • Oversee all flooring, countertop, cabinet, lighting, etc. installations via project manager, dc manager or self-onsite.
  • Coordinate Grand Opening event with local and corporate divisions
  • Bid out local caterers for Grand Opening event
  • Purchase and install all accessories and furniture for staging new showroom
  • Track and process business and/or building expenses on a monthly basis
  • Work closely with Project Manager on all showroom budgets.
  • All other job duties as assigned

Existing Showrooms and staff

  • Support and mentor for all Design Centers
  • Implement best practices across all studios
  • Liaison between National Building and ISI while attending builder meetings as required
  • Implement consistency with all National Builder Branded Showrooms - paperwork, process, procedures.
  • Assist with new staffing needs
  • Serve as a point of contact and resource for designers, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Track division average DC option sales - working on tracking
  • Track division home sales - working on tracking
  • Track Envision progress with all division via monthly reporting
  • Track National Builder survey scores with all divisions - working on tracking
  • Delivers progress reporting for discussion on quarterly basis with National Builder Executives
  • Ensure all showrooms have pricing in place for design staff to use and necessary custom pricing process developed
  • Track and develop plans to meet Proforma and performance metrics in all showrooms
  • Performs other Duties as required and/or needed
  • All other job duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in related discipline, 5+ years of experience in related field
  • Preferred Minimum 5 years Design Manager (multiple locations) and/or related work experience in the new home design center business
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities
  • Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective results.
  • Independently performs assignments with instructions limited to the results expected. Determines and develops an approach to solutions.
  • Oversees the design center business in region(s)
  • Travel 15%

  • Strong communication skills, including written communication
  • High level of organizational skills, time management skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment to consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and effectively handle interpersonal relationships with others

Salary range: $90K-120K DOE, 20% bonus at target.
