A day in the life.

As our Risk Control Consultant on the Risk Management team, you'll deliver value added risk control services to assigned commercial clients in service territory or industry
vertical. You'll also assist Producers in the acquisition and retention of business.

We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:

  • DOT and Fleet expertise

  • Bachelor's Degree or Five years of experience in a risk management consulting position either in private industry or Insurance company capacity or equivalent education and related training

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to travel in assigned territory including overnight on a regular basis

  • Problem solving ability and negotiating skills working with senior level client staff

  • Above average interpersonal skills

  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimum supervision

  • Comprehensive understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSA)

  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, tracking, and optimization

  • Ability to analyze data to identify trends, assess risks, and develop solutions.

  • Strong communication skills are needed to educate and train clients.

  • The ability to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.

Specific Areas of Focus:

  • Understanding driver qualifications files, including documentation and compliance requirements.

  • Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection: Knowledge of vehicle maintenance programs, inspections, and reporting requirements.

  • Hours of Service (HOS) Regulations: Understanding and implementing HOS rules, including Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).

  • Drug and Alcohol Testing: Compliance with drug and alcohol testing programs and the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.

  • DOT Audits and Assessments: Preparing for and assisting with DOT audits, including documentation and record-keeping.

  • Safety Management Systems: Developing and implementing safety management systems to ensure compliance.

These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:

  • Experience with a large fleet is preferred.

  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM); Associate Safety Professional (ASP); Certified Safety Professional (CSP); Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or other nationally recognized safety certification

  • Experience in multi-line coverage and target industry business groups as defined by McGriff marketing department

  • Experience using RMIS systems and databases

The applicable base salary range for this role is $79,900 to $139,900.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
