Compensation range:

$18.35 - $24.78

Your rate of pay will be based on applicable experience

Shift: Days
Days off: Variable
Hours per pay period: 64
Shift length: 8 Hours

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department Clerk assists pharmacists in maintaining the medication inventory, and maintaining patient records to assure patients receive pharmaceutical care which is consistent with the mission of the department and the hospital.  The Department Clerk works under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. These activities are performed within the context of established policies, procedures and techniques of Enloe Health, the Enloe Health Pharmacy, and federal and state standards and regulations.  The Department Clerk supports and contributes to the service excellence mission of Enloe Health and the Pharmacy Department.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

- One-year general work experience.

Desired:

- One year experience in pharmacy or other health care setting 

- Computer experience with pharmacy programs and with Windows

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.   Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule, organize and perform all duties with accuracy and efficiency.  Knowledge of, or ability to learn, pharmacy terminology, abbreviations, brand and generic names of medications.  Ability to use a computer keyboard and to learn required functions on pharmacy computers.) Ability to transcribe pharmacy records, nursing records, and physician orders.  Ability to utilize good telephone etiquette.  Demonstrates a desire to learn more and actively pursue that desire.  Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
