Job Description
Job Summary
The Project Director will lead the full lifecycle of BaRupOn's natural gas-fired power plant projects — from permitting and design through construction and commissioning. This role requires strategic leadership, deep technical understanding of natural gas and CHP systems, and the ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, vendors, and regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate has a proven track record delivering large-scale energy infrastructure on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all phases of natural gas power plant project execution
- Lead planning, permitting, engineering, procurement, and construction coordination
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and risk management plans
- Serve as the primary point of contact with contractors, utilities, agencies, and internal teams
- Monitor and report on project progress to executive leadership
- Ensure full regulatory and environmental compliance
- Identify and mitigate issues to maintain project quality, cost, and safety goals
- Support site team leadership and drive accountability across project phases
- Prepare and present regular project status updates and technical reviews
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience managing utility-scale power generation or industrial energy projects
- Strong background in natural gas, combined cycle, or CHP plant construction and operations
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required
- Master's degree or PE license preferred
- Familiarity with permitting, utility interconnection, and regulatory approvals
- Strong leadership, financial management, and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
- Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore)
- Must possess a valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed
Preferred Certifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- First Aid/CPR
