Job Description

CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon's client business and day-to-day management of client programs.

  • Position will require presence at our client's HQ in Purchase, NY up to 2x per week (pending client requests). As such, only candidates currently in the Greater New York City/Tri-State area will be considered.
  • Please note this is a fixed-term contract position through December 31, 2025. Contract positions with Octagon are not benefits-eligible.

Octagon is searching for an Account Director to join our team as a key leader across partnerships with some of the biggest team sports partnerships. Are you a proven project manager & collaborative self-starter interested in working across the intersection of culture and sports? Do you enjoy creating elevated experiences for fans and client stakeholders? If so, this is a great role for you!

In this role you'll closely with the account Vice President with a strong focus on project management and integration while working closely with senior clients. Overall, you'll be responsible for client communication, planning and ideation, experiential program innovation, development and implementation. To be successful you'll need to be an excellent communicator with a firm grasp of marketing rights.

THE WORK YOU'LL DO

  • Continuous relationship management and communication with various client stakeholders across their partner marketing teams
  • Join meetings and share key points and next steps with the agency team
  • Actively share new opportunities and events to present to key partners
  • Collaborate on and create new ideas on how to integrate partners into sponsorship events and promotions
  • Manage constant flow of incoming requests from clients to support their selling process to partners including join internal team meetings, present opportunities to both account managers and external partners
  • Track asset usage across partner marketing teams
  • Craft strategic recommendations for the sponsorship that are relevant, rooted in fan passions and aligned with both brand initiatives and the client target audience
  • Manage recap documents across various key program stakeholders
  • Super internal and external sell-in of programs, inclusive of leading webinars and presentation development
  • Domestic travel to support client's programming across clients portfolio of MLB, Music, Golf, Culinary and NFL properties; May include non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in sports sponsorship or experiential marketing
  • Possesses significant (agency, brand) client management skills.
  • Experience navigating contractual marketing rights
  • Confident and comfortable presenting to senior clients and partners
  • Keen sense of business process and project management, understanding how sports sponsorship, event marketing, communications, and events are used impacts the bottom line and drives brand objectives
  • Versatile and able to develop, create and implement POVs, strategic marketing plans and program development documents for several programs simultaneously
  • Have experience overseeing executional deliverables and program activations across multiple projects
  • Opportunity to support new client projects and events as well as staffing events across the company
  • A highly driven and motivated individual
  • Exceptional communicator and strong PowerPoint skills to deliver creative, clear documents to senior stakeholders
  • Experience leading teams to exceed client expectations

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel level: Low (10-20%)

The base range (annualized) for this position is $75,000 - 85,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee's/applicant's background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
