The Tester Maintenance Technician position within Kimball Electronics Group is a service and repair provider for production test equipment. This test equipment includes machines used to test printed circuit boards and assemblies; and associated equipment to test PCAs after manufacture.

Organizationally, the Tester Maintenance Technician is placed within the Manufacturing Engineering branch of engineering, working under the Test Technician Team Leader. Functionally, the Tester Maintenance Technician maintains the test equipment and responds to trouble calls. This groups' primary focus is to maximize test equipment up-time.

A Tester Maintenance Technician executes a variety of tasks. Tasks include the following:

Test Fixture fabrication / Modification

Maintenance to equipment

Calibration and Validation of equipment

Error proofing

Read Schematics and test specifications

Coordinate service and upgrades

Train operators

Purchase and maintain spare parts inventory

Create work instructions

To be successful you will repair electronic/mechanical issues and provide detail documentation to the repair. Additionally, a background in computer technology is needed.

You Will:

Main Performance Goals

Week 1:

  • Complete required HR, Safety, Quality, RoHS, and Benefits Orientation
  • Complete IPC 6.10 Training and pass post training assessment
  • Clock in and out of time keeping system
  • Comply and understand ESD controls and safe guards
  • Open and close work request in Engineering SharePoint sites
  • Understand location of in-shop tools and materials
  • Use email

Week 2 –6 months

  • Maintain attendance record with less than a 2% absenteeism rate
  • Demonstrate concise and non-offensive verbal communication
  • Demonstrate safe use of equipment and applicable safety guards
  • Complete Lock out / Tag out training
  • Keep personal data updated and accurate in ESS
  • Understand 6S and suggest improvements
  • Understand drives and storage locations within our network
  • Demonstrate the ability to self-manage a project and push to closure
  • Demonstrate the ability to respond to calls and address root cause
  • Understand and use project team listing to establish main contacts
  • Communicate with customers and team members to insure maximum understanding of test equipment issues (i.e. safety concerns, failure modes, maintenance needs, ergonomics)

6 months +

  • Navigate and retrieve all necessary product specs and schematics from network locations
  • Follow all employee handbook policies
  • Relate activities to vision and guiding principles
  • Troubleshoot pneumatics and electromechanical devices
  • Sustain a less than 2% absenteeism rate
  • Promote 6S and improve audit scores
  • Sustain an injury free record
  • Gain an understanding of FDA certification and its associated product requirements
  • Create purchase order requisitions for materials and supplies
  • Input and update equipment in relevant SharePoint sites
  • Integrate improvement ideas to make the technical shop a "Show Case" area of functional support
  • Establish a good working relationship with engineers and operators

You Have:

Basic Requirements:

  • Interview with relevant hiring team
  • Pass pre-employment drug test
  • Pass an electrical trouble shooting assessment
  • AS degree in Electronics, 3 or more years of experience in manufacturing/maintenance
