Job Description

Retail Operations Associate Manager

San Francisco, CA

At Rothy's, we know there's a better way to do business, and it starts by putting the planet and its people first. More than 200 million single-use plastic bottles and 715,000 pounds of ocean-bound marine plastic have been transformed into our signature thread, creating wardrobe staples that look just as good as they feel.

Striving for zero waste, we combine 3D knitting technology and handcrafted assembly to create machine washable styles that don't compromise on comfort. From classic shoes to carry-everywhere bags, we create essentials for wherever you go.

At Rothy's, building a sustainable future is at the heart of everything we do. We pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive environment at our HQ, retail stores and wholly-owned factory, and are growing our community every day.

About the Team:

Shopping at a Rothy's store is not your ordinary retail experience-so naturally, our Retail Ops team is extraordinary, too. With deep knowledge of the retail landscape and a love of all things brick-and-mortar, members of this team bring Rothy's to life in upscale shopping venues and on iconic streets across the country. They work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure the Rothy's digital experience translates flawlessly in person.

Reporting to the Director of Retail Operations, the Retail Operations Associate Manager is a highly capable operational leader responsible for overseeing the processes for all Rothy's retail locations. This role ensures that all departments involved in a new store opening adhere to schedules and meet critical milestones. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and a proven capacity for cross-functional collaboration. This role requires an adaptable individual who can anticipate challenges and proactively develop solutions. The person should be a team player, readily assisting where needed, and capable of handling shifting priorities, even beyond typical duties.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all aspects of Rothy's Retail Operations. This includes comprehensive knowledge of in-store processes, systems, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and policies

  • Confirm completion of all in-store fixture setups and marketing campaigns to guarantee deliverables are met

  • Partner with field teams to create and execute retail strategies, policies and procedures, and streamlined processes that are aimed at increasing productivity

  • Provides support for operational initiatives by managing organization, documentation, and training processes

  • Own the new store opening (NSO) process by coordinating the NSO calendar, communicating with cross-functional teams, leading weekly calls, tracking deliverables, and serving as the main point of contact

  • Collaborate with the Director of Retail Operations on analyzing store back-of-house layouts to confirm category capacity, ensuring safe and efficient store operations

  • Works closely with Regional Directors and the Director of Retail Operations on aspects such as new store turnover, in-store training initiatives, and planning activities

  • In collaboration with the Director of Retail Operations, manage and forecast OPEX budgets. Implement crucial initiatives to sustain service quality and simultaneously achieve cost reductions

You are:

  • You love retail and operations and are excited about continual process improvement

  • You are able to develop new processes and drive strategic initiatives, but will also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done

  • Easily handle shifting priorities and have the ability to create order out of chaos

  • Come from a place of "yes" or "we'll try" (rather than "no" or "that's impossible")

  • Acts with a sense of urgency--strong time management and organizational skills

  • Someone who leads by example and isn't afraid to challenge the status quo

  • Communicates with cross-functional team(s) focused on driving action; Knows who to loop in / which teams are impacted and how

  • Updates senior leaders and focuses on information sharing; Knows how to concisely share meaningful updates / insights and adjust to the audience

You have:

  • 2+ years of experience in retail operations management

  • Working knowledge of retail operations, inventory, technology communication platforms, and expense management

  • Strong understanding of financial concepts related to project evaluation, financial forecasting, return on investment, etc.

  • The ability to travel to the new store locations for turnover and act as the main point of contact

Our benefits:

  • Generous paid time off

  • 401k matching

  • Comprehensive health plans for you and your family

  • Supplemental mental health benefits

  • Monthly wellness reimbursement

  • Employee Discount Program!

Pay Range

$85,000 - $115,000 annually

Base pay is one part of the total rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
