We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Consultant to join our economic impact and labor analytics team. The ideal candidate will have experience using economic modeling software to conduct economic impact studies, model regional economic activity, and support clients in understanding the broader implications of their projects or policies. A strong background in data analytics or economic development is preferred.

This role involves working with public and private sector clients to quantify the economic contributions of various initiatives, including capital investments, public programs, infrastructure projects, and industry developments.

The Credits and Incentives Senior Consultant ("Senior Consultant") plays a critical role in helping clients identify and secure financial assistance, tax savings, and other incentive-related opportunities. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, the Senior Consultant supports a manager in partnering with some of the largest companies in the United States to support domestic capital expansion projects and maximize economic development incentives.

In this role, the Senior Consultant will:

  • Conduct economic impact analyses using modeling software to estimate direct, indirect, and induced effects of client projects.
  • Interpret and communicate results through written reports, presentations, and data visualizations tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with management and clients to define project scope, gather relevant data, and ensure accurate modeling inputs.
  • Develop custom economic models and scenarios to support strategic planning, grant applications, or policy advocacy.
  • Stay current on regional economic trends, labor market data, and industry multipliers to enhance model accuracy.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals and client pitches.
  • Assist Manager in developing project workplans and scheduling associated project deliverables.
  • Respond to client inquiries and requests from local and state economic development agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a passion for economic development, and the ability to communicate complex financial and economic concepts clearly.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, and/or Economics/Finance.
  • Two to four years economic development, consulting, or tax related experience.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Canva knowledge a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Experience working with economic development agencies or government entities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of tax incentive programs, workforce development, or infrastructure planning is preferred.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research. Familiarity with other economic modeling tools (e.g., IMPLAN, REMI, RIMS II) is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver's license required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Requires limited supervisory responsibilities, including training employees, assigning work, and checking work for accuracy and completeness.

Work Environment:

  • Standard indoor working environment.
  • Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
  • Occasional long periods of standing while copying.
  • Position requires regular interaction with employees and clients both in person and via e-mail and telephone.
  • Independent travel requirement: 10-15%
