Job Description
About the Role:
As the Roku Engineering Tech Lead at Tubi, you will lead a dedicated team of Roku engineers to deliver an industry-leading streaming experience on Roku devices. Leveraging your deep BrightScript expertise, you'll drive innovation, performance, and scalability to ensure every viewer enjoys free, seamless, high-quality content on Tubi. Beyond overseeing development, you'll collaborate with multiple teams (Product, Design,etc.) to shape a clear technical roadmap aligned with Tubi's broader goals. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence, you'll empower your team to push boundaries and keep Tubi at the forefront of streaming technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and build a team of high-performing Roku engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence
- Oversee the end-to-end development of the Tubi Roku app, ensuring high performance, scalability, and quality code
- Provide technical direction through code review and establish best practices for Roku development using BrightScript & SceneGraph (This is a must)
- Partner with the Product Management team to translate business requirements into a clear technical roadmap
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to enhance the streaming experience for Roku users
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Roku development experience, including deep expertise in BrightScript, SceneGraph, and other Roku-specific tools and frameworks
- 4+ years of people management experience, including building and leading high-performing engineering teams
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to coach, guide, and motivate teams to achieve their best
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to align team goals with company objectives
- Capable of inspiring a shared vision while balancing long-term innovation with short-term execution priorities
- Proven ability to architect and deliver complex, scalable applications on the Roku platform
- Experience working with Roku as a partner
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is listed annually below. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, long-term incentive plan, and various benefits including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
California Compensation
Base ($245,000 to $350,000 / year) + Bonus + Long-Term Incentive Plan+ Benefits
