Job Description
Position Summary
The Faculty of Culture, Language & Performing Arts at BYU-Hawaii invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Faculty position in Spanish Language instruction. The successful candidate may teach 1-2 beginning and intermediate Spanish language courses per semester, beginning Fall 2025.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach beginning and intermediate-level Spanish language courses
- Prepare course materials and assessments in alignment with departmental standards
- Provide students with timely feedback and academic support
- Maintain regular office hours and participate in department meetings as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Language Education, or a related field
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Commitment to high-quality undergraduate teaching
- Willingness to teach in-person on BYU-Hawaii's campus
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Spanish, Second Language Teaching, or a closely related field
- Prior experience teaching Spanish at the college or university level
- Familiarity with communicative and student-centered teaching approaches
