Deer Valley Resort is nestled in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, in the historic mining town of Park City which has evolved into an exciting and diverse mountain ski town. PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Mountain Operations Dispatcher plays a key role in ensuring smooth communication and coordination across departments. This position is responsible for receiving, recording, and relaying critical information to support operational efficiency and exceptional guest service. Dispatchers monitor radio traffic, track mountain conditions and resource deployment, assist with incident response, and maintain accurate operational records.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communication & Coordination
Maintain clear, concise, and professional communication across radio, phone, and digital platforms
Share timely and accurate information with relevant departments to support guest service and operational efficiency
Ensure consistent messaging regarding terrain status and mountain operations
Monitoring & Dispatching
Continuously monitor radio channels and dispatch phone lines
Receive, evaluate, and prioritize incoming calls, including first aid and emergency situations
Determine and deploy appropriate resources based on the nature of each situation
Incident & Record Management
Accurately log all communications, incidents, and operational updates
Maintain detailed records of radio transmissions, phone calls, and other relevant interactions
Assist in facilitating timely and effective incident response
Professionalism & Situational Awareness
Stay calm and focused under pressure, especially during high-stress or emergency situations
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality
Maintain awareness of current mountain conditions and resource placement
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous dispatching experience preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable using multiple platforms and dispatch systems
Availability to work weekends and holidays during the winter season
Completion of ICS 100: Introduction to the Incident Command System (FEMA online course - approx. 2 hours) required prior to employment

PAY RATE:
- Pay: $20.00 - 24.00 per hour, depending on experience
