Job Summary

The Application Analyst I participates in design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing software applications. This role participates in multiple concurrent projects, supporting the IS Manager, Systems Team Lead, and Sr App Analysts to ensure that business requirements are accurately translated into functional specifications and effectively communicated to software vendors and developers. The Application Analyst I supports end users, troubleshoots issues, maintains data integrity, and optimizes workflows to enhance system functionality and business operations.

Essential Functions

Application Development & Maintenance

  • Assist design, development, testing, and implementation of new and existing software applications.
  • Contributes to multiple projects related to the application and its end users.
  • Ensure business requirements are accurately translated into functional specifications.
  • Work closely with IS Manager, Systems Team Lead, and Sr Application Analysts improve system functionality across modules.
  • Monitor application upgrades and assess their impact on operations across modules.

Business & System Support

  • Support the IS Manager and Sr App Analysts in understanding business operations and translating requirements into system design.
  • Provide ongoing support by identifying and resolving complex issues, escalating to the IS Manager, Sr App Analyst, and Systems Team Lead as needed.
  • Support maintenance of Strata Financial Data Model (FDM) and Requirements Workbook (e.g., job code and pay code groupings, charge code mapping).
  • Provides ongoing support of the software applications by identifying and resolving issues, escalating as needed for timely resolution.

Data & Reporting Management

  • Monitor reporting portfolio, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Work with IS Manager, Systems Team Leand, and Sr App Analyst to review and then execute external data requests to support enterprise initiatives.
  • Execute reconciliation process for raw data imports and escalate data exceptions.
  • Provides high quality, customer-focused services.
  • Runs regular data quality audits reports.
  • Monitor intake queue, triaging and escalating inputs as needed.

Qualifications

Education

  • A bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field of study. Equivalent experience can be accepted in lieu of a degree

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in financial systems management, financial analysis, IS administration, or a related role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of financial systems and enterprise reporting tools.

  • Experience in translating business requirements into functional system designs.

  • Proficiency in data reconciliation, reporting, and quality assurance practices.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Commitment to accuracy, detail, and continuous improvement.

  • Proficient in Excel

  • Hybrid working model includes onsite work weekly and events at MGB local sites and Assembly Row.
