Job Description:
Mount Holyoke College is seeking an Academic Department Coordinator to provide vital support to both the Miller Worley Center for the Environment and the Data Science Department. This part-time, 20 hours a week / 40 weeks per year position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate across various departments and contribute to MHC's thriving academic community.
As a key member of the team, the Academic Department Coordinator will provide essential administrative and logistical support to faculty and academic initiatives. This role thrives in a fast-paced environment with evolving responsibilities, working closely with the MWCE Director and the Data Science department chair, as well as other Academic Affairs staff and College offices.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive organizational and logistical support to the center director, staff, and academic department.
Manage and track unit budgets and payments using the Workday system.
Coordinate academic and curricular initiatives, acting as a liaison with key college offices like the Registrar, Human Resources, and Finance.
Arrange logistics for meetings, programs, and events, including room reservations, catering, and travel.
Assist in promoting events through the college calendar, digital communications, and newsletters.
Conduct general office and clerical work, including ordering supplies and maintaining electronic and print files (Google Drive, alumni database).
Provide administrative support for departmental processes such as faculty searches, external reviews, and onboarding of new faculty and staff.
Potentially hire, train, supervise, and manage student employees.

Qualifications:
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
High proficiency in technological tools, including Workday, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, Google Apps, and social media platforms.
Experience in administrative support, preferably in a higher education setting.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a diverse team.
Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet strict deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong proofreading and experience creating spreadsheets.
Strong human relations and interpersonal skills for maintaining professional and cooperative relationships with all stakeholders.
Ability to interact professionally and clearly with a diverse community of faculty, staff, alumnae, internship hosts, and students.

Hiring Range: $31.26 - $35.17
