Job Description
Provides medical nutrition therapy to patients of all ages in the acute care setting. Provides nutrition education to patients and families as well as hospital staff. Works as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Completes nutrition assessments using the nutrition care process.
- Electronic medical records charting
- Provide medical nutrition therapy
- Assists with menu planning and other projects as needed.
- Serves a population pediatric through geriatric.
- Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
- Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.
General Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's in Nutrition, Dietetics.
Required License/Certifications/Registrations
- Registration eligible or current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed in the State of Kansas. If registration eligible registry must be obtained within one (1) year of hire date.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work in a cooperative manner with multidisciplinary team
- Basic entral and parentral knowledge
- Ability to multi-task and have time management skills
- Basic nutrition assessment knowledge
Physical Requirements:
With or without accommodation.
- Light Work: Occasionally exerting up to 25 lbs - frequently exerting up to 10 lbs. 11-25% of the day may be standing or walking.
