A Day in the Life of a Bridge Group Manager at Hanson
Here's a snapshot of what you would do in this role:
Lead and mentor a growing, dynamic bridge group in Indiana
Collaborate with technical staff across Practice Areas and Markets
Guide and participate in assembling reports, plans, specifications, and contract documents
Manage staffing needs and track backlog for INDOT and KYTC projects
Conduct bridge analysis and design using structural software tools
Interact with construction contractors, staff, and subcontractors
Meet with clients to define project scopes and clarify requirements
Assign tasks based on team members' strengths and skills
Track project performance and analyze goal completion
Meet budgetary objectives and adjust constraints based on financial metrics
Develop comprehensive project plans and conduct team meetings
Support project pursuits, scope development, and proposal writing
Represent Hanson's bridge group to clients, recruits, and professional organizations
Other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
We feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:
Skills:
Proficient in structural design software: Bentley Leap Bridge (required), Midas Civil or Larsa4D (desirable)
Experience with MicroStation and MS Office Suite (preferred)
Demonstrated knowledge of accrual-based revenue recognition and ability to understand project budgets and financial reports
Ability to generate scope and fee for task-specific service agreements
Soft Skills:
Strong ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
Relationship builder with internal and external clients
Capable of independent problem-solving and collaborative teamwork
Willingness to take on diverse assignments and continually grow leadership skills
Education & Experience:
Minimum 8 years of experience in highway bridge design; railway experience is a plus
Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in Indiana or attainable within 6 months; KY licensure is desirable
Master's in Structural Engineering is preferred
Experience with INDOT/KYTC project standards and municipal transportation projects
Background with complex bridge types and technical society participation
Staff management and mentoring experience
Working at Hanson
Collaborate remotely with colleagues across offices
Periodic out-of-town travel assignments
Willingness to work occasional overtime to meet deadlines
Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000
