Job Description

Interconnection Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Interconnection Coordinator manages the entire interconnection process for Ipsun Solar residential and commercial solar projects up until project completion. This role ensures timely and accurate submission of interconnection applications to utility companies, diligently tracks their status, and resolves any rejections or additional requirements until final approval. This position plays a key role in ensuring projects are energized efficiently and on schedule.

This position is located at Ipsun Solar's HQ in Fairfax, VA. Candidates must be able to be in office Monday through Friday traditional business hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with utility company representatives to facilitate smooth interconnection processes.
  • Proactively manage the pipeline of residential interconnection applications, ensuring timely submission and tracking progress to meet project deadlines.
  • Prepare, process application fee payments, submit, and track all interconnection applications, as well as new applications and resubmissions. This includes promptly addressing any requests for additional information or resolving application rejections by ensuring all requirements are met and resubmitted until approval.
  • Communicate effectively with Project Managers regarding local project needs, such as scheduled shutdowns and dig alerts, to ensure seamless coordination and avoid delays.
  • Proactively communicate with Project Coordinators to obtain all required documentation from utility companies, including document signatures, updated utility bills, photos, and other necessary materials, ensuring timely project progression.
  • Manage the Utility database through the CRM ensuring up to date information is listed.
  • Manage the Solar Renewable Energy Certificate (SREC) enrollment process for completed projects.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma.
  • 2+ years in Solar is a huge plus
  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination, administrative support, or a related field.
  • Experience with CRM software or project management tools, Google & Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including utility representatives, project managers, and customers.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Compensation: $55,000 - 60,000 per year
