Sr WiFi Design Engineer

The Sr. Wireless Design Engineer: Wi-Fi designs, plans, establishes, and optimizes wireless networks; develops wireless network infrastructures and makes recommendations on systems enhancements for optimization.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Plan for designs/projects to deliver excellent quality of services for several years to come
• Audit network designs for over-design or under-design.
• Properly scope requirements for projects.
• Work and engage with other members outside of the engineering department.
• Train and work with operational level staff members.
• Expertise in wireless protocols (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be), RF principles, Auth methods, encryption, and spectrum management.

• Document network designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures

• Other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Engineering, Telecommunications, or Computer Science and/or 7+ years’ experience in networking for Service Provider or medium-to-large Enterprises, with an emphasis on WiFi.
• Strong Knowledge of Wifi design (CWDA, CWNA, RCNA a plus)
• Excellent understanding of Wireless Design Tools such as Hamina, iBwave, Ekahau and Air Magnet

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

• Certified Wireless Design Professional
• Certified Wireless Analysis Professional
• Experience with Ruckus Smartzone/Ruckus Zone Director/Ruckus Cloud
• Experience in the telecommunication industry or with an ISP
