Job Description

Work Schedule and Shift Premiums

7am-7pm | 3 days/week, including every other weekend

2nd shift premium is $2.00/hour; 3rd shift premium is $3.05/hour; weekend premium is an additional $2.00/hour

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; will consider a H.S. senior who has their CNA, or a 5th year senior enrolled in the Early Middle College
  • Must be 18 years of age; will consider a 17 year-old who has their CNA
  • Current Michigan Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA), otherwise must obtain one within 4 months of hire, may be eligible to have this paid for by the hospital
  • BLS, ACLS, CPI certifications (available through Hillsdale Hospital)

Responsibilities

  • Must have knowledge of patient’s condition and plan of care and assist under direction of an RN
  • May assist patients with activities of daily living
  • Maintain accurate records within the chart - graphics, I&Os, evening and weekend activity, showers, etc.
  • Collect patient specimens per protocol
  • Perform clerical duties related to admissions, discharges, transfers, etc. Input computer data appropriately. Answer the telephone in a friendly manner, take messages, and direct calls
