Job Description
At Hudl, we build great teams. We hire the best of the best to ensure you're working with people you can constantly learn from. You're trusted to get your work done your way while testing the limits of what's possible and what's next. We work hard to provide a culture where everyone feels supported, and our employees feel it-their votes helped us become one of Newsweek's Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplaces.
We think of ourselves as the team behind the team, supporting the lifelong impact sports can have: the lessons in teamwork and dedication; the influence of inspiring coaches; and the opportunities to reach new heights. That's why we help teams from all over the world see their game differently. Our products make it easier for coaches and athletes at any level to capture video, analyze data, share highlights and more.
Ready to join us?
Your Role
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our hardware team to concentrate on building end-to-end capabilities for our Hudl Focus cameras. Our Focus cameras are autonomous, using edge AI to automatically track the action and upload directly to the cloud, providing our customers seamless access to video and insights.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll:
- Collaborate. You'll work closely with teammates from engineering, quality, design, product and scrum to enhance and support Hudl's hardware products. By combining your full-stack web/mobile skills with computer vision and video, you'll help ship cutting-edge features.
- Develop and deliver. You'll have the autonomy to make meaningful improvements across the entire product-from on-camera support software, to backend systems and mobile apps. We empower our squads to take ownership of the whole user experience to support our coaches and athletes.
- Be a key technical leader. At Hudl, we iterate rapidly and deploy changes to our products hundreds of times a day across our engineering team. In addition to your focus on delivery, you'll support the team by breaking down complex engineering problems, advocating for best practices, and guiding others.
We're currently considering candidates who live within a commuting distance of our offices in Den Bosch. With our flexible work policy, there aren't any current requirements for the number of days you come to the office.
Must-Haves
- Experience writing code for complex, full-stack web applications. You've spent several years building across many levels of a web application, from client-side code down to the database.
- A teammate. You know building excellent software is a team effort and you're willing to collaborate with others to get to the best outcome. This includes providing input in technical discussions, pitching in when a teammate needs a hand, or providing quality feedback in code review.
- Mentor mentality. You strongly believe in the multiplier mindset and understand that your growth is tied to the growth of those around you and you enjoy helping fellow engineers hone their skills in various ways.
- Adaptable. You're used to working with many possible implementation options and know how to identify the one that pragmatically balances quality, consistency and delivering immediate customer value.
- Bias towards action. You act decisively, tackle challenges head-on, and prioritize outcomes-even when all the details aren't perfectly clear. You're comfortable stepping outside role definitions to keep momentum and deliver results.
Nice-to-Haves
- Professional background in C#, React, MongoDB and/or AWS. Adjacent languages, frameworks and services used at scale are relevant experiences, but a direct background in our core technologies is a plus.
- Mobile development know-how. Hudl is heavily invested in React Native to bring our camera management experience to iOS and Android with a single codebase. Experience with mobile development (native iOS or Android) would be an asset in this role and specifically React Native a useful bonus.
- Experience working with hybrid teams. Our engineering team is spread across the Netherlands and the U.S. and employees work both in office and remotely.. A background working with global teams would help you adapt quicker to our structure.
Our Role
- Champion work-life harmony. We'll give you the flexibility you need in your work life (e.g., flexible vacation time above any required statutory leave, company-wide holidays and timeout (meeting-free) days, remote work options and more) so you can enjoy your personal life too.
- Guarantee autonomy. We have an open, honest culture and we trust our people from day one. Your team will support you, but you'll own your work and have the agency to try new ideas.
- Encourage career growth. We're lifelong learners who encourage professional development. We'll give you tons of resources and opportunities to keep growing.
- Provide an environment to help you succeed. We've invested in our offices, designing incredible spaces with our employees in mind. But whether you're at the office or working remotely, we'll provide you the tech you need to do your best work.
- Support your wellbeing. Depending on location, we offer medical and retirement benefits for employees-but no matter where you're located, we have resources like our Employee Assistance Program and employee resource groups to support your mental health.

Inclusion at Hudl
Hudl is an equal opportunity employer. Through our actions, behaviors and attitude, we'll create an environment where everyone, no matter their differences, feels like they belong.
We offer resources to ensure our employees feel safe bringing their authentic selves to work, including employee resource groups and communities. But we recognize there's ongoing work to be done, which is why we track our efforts and commitments in annual inclusion reports.
We also know imposter syndrome is real and the confidence gap can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates. Please don't hesitate to apply-we'd love to hear from you.
