Job Description

Our team of innovators includes Project Managers, detailers, carpenters, metalworkers, scenic artists and sculptors, who collaborate with designers, architects, and clients. Within our 100,000 sq ft facility, we use state-of-the-art fabrication technologies and materials to produce award winning projects that set our clients apart time and time again.

We are hiring for a full-time Senior Design Detailer based in Lincolnwood, Illinois.

This role is in office Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Design Detailer will both detail and lead a small team of detailers on larger projects. This includes overseeing the detailing process, ensuring accuracy, compliance with specifications, and coordinating the work of a small team of Design Detailers focused on a single project.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create detailed shop drawings for a variety of different types of projects within the exhibit, millwork, theater, special events and custom fabrication markets
  • Independently manage and execute detailing for projects of all levels of complexity; including mechanical and electrical interactive systems
  • Create CNC files for projects, including 3D carving toolpaths on Fusion 360
  • Analyze and problem solve different, unique fabrication challenges with an eye towards finding simple effective solutions with frequent use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Work in a collaborative team setting.
  • Use and promote Ravenswood Studios' Key Predictors of Success
  • Clearly communicate design intent onto drawings.
  • Maintain open and clear communications with the Associate Director of Design Detailing, Project Managers, Project Leads and Detailers.
  • Create drawings for design specific parts, ordered from suppliers.
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D
  • Relevant degree / diploma, professional certification, or equivalent work experience/demonstrated skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Senior Detailer, detailing in one or more of the following industries: museum exhibit, display, cabinetry / millwork, theater, or opera.
  • Is proactive, aware, and focused.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and problem solve.
  • Understanding of the materials and methods used in a custom fabrication facility.
  • Ability to work independently, and collaboratively.
  • Is honest, proactive, responsive, anticipatory, and shows empathy for others.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • High proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D.
  • Relevant degree / diploma, professional certification, or equivalent work experience/demonstrated skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Senior Detailer, detailing in one or more of the following industries: museum exhibit, display, cabinetry / millwork, theater, or opera.
