Job Description
The Sports and Digital Sales Account Executive at WGN Radio & Nexstar Media Group generates advertising revenue by calling on established agencies, generating new direct business via cold-calling new prospects, and convincing potential clients of the merits of radio and digital advertising.

- Implements strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals.
- Develops integrated marketing campaigns using the tools available at WGN Radio and Nexstar Media Group, which include, but are not limited to
- Sports Play-by-Play: Chicago Blackhawks Hockey Northwestern Wildcat Football and Basketball, select out of market sporting events carried on WGN Radio.
- Digital Advertising, including but not limited to: OTT, Video, Social, Programmatic, and Email.
- Radio Advertising in non-sports programming.
- Establishes credible relationships with local business community.
- Makes sales calls on existing and prospective clients.
- Identify, develop, and expand existing clients, new clients & key account relationships.
- Prepares and delivers sales presentations to clients.
- Explains to customers how specific types of advertising will help promote their products or services in the most effective way possible.
- Provides clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.
- Develops advertising schedules with clients and station personnel responsible for placing advertising into station media.
- Works with clients and station personnel to develop advertisements.
- Willingness to take on additional opportunities and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- 3+ years of proven experience as an Account Executive or in other sales/customer service role, preferably in the media field
- Experience with key verticals/categories investing in audio and digital
- Experience with high-value partnerships including prospecting, negotiating, etc.
- Experience with digital media and/or extensive agency/marketer experience
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Experience achieving long-range objectives and implementing the strategies and actions to achieve them.
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
Pay Range: $75k-$100k
