Job Description
DBS is a family owned staffing company in search of a Prep Cook / Line Cook to join our team. Our company is dedicated to finding quality employment candidates and matching their talents to our clients in the hospitality industry. As a Prep Cook / Line Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring our clients are satisfied with their dining experience. You will work in a fast-paced environment where you will execute culinary techniques to prepare dishes while following standard recipes. We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate a strong work ethic, dedication to cleanliness, and a passion for cooking. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items to standard recipes according to production projections and quality standards
- Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices
- Follow all proper procedures when handling, storing, and disposing of food items
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station
- Assist with routine kitchen tasks such as set-up, prep, and clean-up
- Rotate food stock to ensure freshness and prevent spoilage
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a Prep Cook / Line Cook
- Well-versed with cooking methods, banquet-style food service, and portion control
- Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to work well with a team
- Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
- Ability to follow recipes precisely and accurately
- Working knowledge of various kitchen equipment and utensils
- Must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
Benefits
Pay rate of $16 an hour.
