Job Description
The Medical Records Coordinator provides complete and full documentation that is essential to ensure efficient and reliable care for patients. Medical Records Coordinator provides clerical support to clinical care teams on behalf of patients. Work within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide care to meet clinic goals for quality care and patient satisfaction. Work in partnership and with joint accountability with other team members to achieve Neighborcare Health's Mission, Guiding Principles, and goals.

Compensation:
- The target wage range for this position is $20.76 per hour to $25.01 per hour.
- Final offers are individually based on various factors, including skill set, years of experience, location, qualifications, work schedule and other job-related reasons.

Primary Responsibilities
- Manage centralized Epic In-Basket pools: MRC, Prior Authorization, and DME. Prioritize tasks, maintain workflow integrity, and escalate urgent or incomplete items appropriately.
- Process all pharmacy-benefit medication prior authorizations through Epic, CoverMyMeds (CMM), and fax.
- Regular communication with the payers regarding medication questions.
- Coordinating with DME suppliers as needed
- Call pharmacies and insurance companies as needed to follow up on patient medications
- Create and maintain clear documentation within Epic, including telephone encounters, communication tasks, and scanned documents
- Collaborate with providers, MA teams, and vendors to ensure timely completion of medication, DME, and records-related processes.
- Request chart notes as needed from outside facilities using available resources
- Manage multiple workstreams across Epic pools (PA, DME, MRC) while adhering to timelines, daily follow-ups, and urgent prioritization protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic codes (ICD-10), and prescription language
- Working knowledge of epic systems
- Working knowledge of pharmacy benefits and medication names
- Strong knowledge or understanding of pharmacy-benefit prior authorization processes, including platforms like Epic and CoverMyMeds
- Familiarity with durable medical equipment (DME) request workflows, including documentation standards, vendor communication, insurance coverage verification, and follow-up practices
- Attention to Detail and Accuracy
Education/Experience Requirements
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: In-progress or completed Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Applied Science in Allied Health, Nursing Assistant, Nursing, Pre-Med, Pre-Physician Assistant, Healthcare Services Management
Years of Relevant Experience Preferred:
1-year experience working in medical office, pharmacy or clinic setting
