Job Description
Join us in tackling healthcare for rural America! We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to be a key contributor to our Engineering team who is passionate about having positive societal impact and using technology for good - solving issues of health inequity for communities that have been perennially underserved. As a Senior Software Engineer, on our Homeward Navigation team, you'll work shoulder to shoulder with your engineering peers and partner closely with our product, design and data teams to build world-class solutions and help us re-architect health and care starting in rural America.
What you'll do:
- Develop high-quality, scalable Typescript code across the tech stack, creating end-to-end features in collaboration with a cross-functional team.
- Integrate with EHRs and third parties by building APIs, webhooks, data pipelines to ensure data is in sync with our partners.
- Solve complex debugging, testability, and deployability challenges, bringing a pragmatic approach to technical problem-solving.
- Shape our technical roadmap, driving ongoing improvements in collaboration with our data, data engineering and product teams.
- Contribute to best practices and documentation, ensuring consistency and quality across projects.
- Collaborate in code reviews, embracing feedback and learning from engineering peers.
What you bring:
- 4+ years of hands-on software development experience
- Experience building applications end-to-end with Typescript + React + NodeJS
- You have a healthy understanding of security and PHI, especially where it interacts with HIPAA regulations.
Nice to have
- 2+ years of hands-on of experience in a healthcare (or regulated) setting
- Prior experience or interest in GenAI tooling such as n8n, Flowise, Cursor, Co-pilot, and enterprise models like Claude, Gemini, and ChatGPT

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, location, competencies and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work at Homeward Health. This role is eligible for an annual bonus, stock options, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
