Job Description
The Maintenance Manager will oversee the planning, direction, and coordination of all facilities functions including maintenance, grounds, heating, cooling, ventilation, building layout, and remodeling. Coordinates
maintenance functions using both inside personnel and outside contractors to accomplish facilities maintenance and new construction. This role will provide direct supervision to maintenance staff and all maintenance related projects.
Job Duties
- Assist in the establishment of facility strategies for SMC to ensure that all necessary assets are in place to meet the annual business plan.
- Oversee facility projects to ensure adequate specifications are written, successful negotiations take place, and that all projects are completed on time and with-in budget
- Ensure that adequate environmental and facility safety policies and procedures are in place to meet/and or exceed Federal, State and local requirements
- Develop and execute Preventive Maintenance through out the shop where necessary.
- Contract vendors to maintain buildings, security, fire systems, grounds, equipment, and any other services deemed necessary.
- Establish schedules and methods for providing maintenance and repair services and allocate resources accordingly.
- Conduct performance appraisals as required, including involvement in disciplinary actions.
- Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives for the maintenance department.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
- 2-year Degree in a Maintenance, Manufacturing, or Engineering Discipline Highly Preferred
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent with extensive experience in Maintenance and People Management
- 8+ years of plant engineering or maintenance management experience
- 5+ years of environmental experience, preferred
- Technical knowledge of building systems, equipment maintenance, and vehicle maintenance
- Federal, state, and local environmental regulations preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability, people management, and conflict resolution
- Project management and vendor relation skills
- Manufacturing facility including, machining, assembly, office, and injection molding environments
- Variable hours considering any vendor needs, after production closes, or inclement weather. Schedule may include early mornings and/or weekends periodically.
Expected Annual Salary Range: $90,000- $115,000
