Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing radiologic procedures as ordered by Provider. This position collaborates with team and other departments to ensure quality patient care. The Radiology Technologist acts a resource to patient during their procedure. This position works with Physicians to communicate and share results. 

 

  • Full Time/Benefits Eligible
  • Monday- Friday 9am-5:30pm
  • Columbus, OH

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety. Responsible for explaining procedure to patient and answer questions.
  • Use a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials as well as various media.
  • Ensure equipment is in working order and reports malfunctions to appropriate person(s).
  • Process routine paperwork as necessary. 
  • Maintain examination rooms, stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
  • Attend required staff and educational meetings.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Licensures & Certifications 

  • Required: Completion of course in Radiologic Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Required: Current certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist
  • Required: Current Ohio Department of Health Radiology license

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to perform x-ray testing 
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment
  • Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics and patient movement
  • Skill in properly positioning patients as well as properly identifying equipment problems 
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patient, medical staff, and the public  
  • Ability to assist patients on and off exam tables
  • Ability to apply written guidelines and standardized work practices  
  • Ability to work on a team and display a positive attitude
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent relationship building skills
