Position Type: Full-Time
Overview: We are seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Architect to design, optimize, and implement scalable data warehouse solutions with a strong focus on supporting State Government clients. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of warehouse architecture principles, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT frameworks, with the ability to collaborate directly with public sector stakeholders to define and deliver data solutions that drive actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design data warehouse architectures that meet organizational goals, BI requirements, and analytic needs for State Government agencies.
- Evaluate trade-offs between different schema implementations (e.g., star schema vs. snowflake schema) and propose best-fit solutions based on project requirements.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, program leaders, technical staff, analysts, and data modelers to define data needs and technical constraints.
- Assess critical warehouse design factors such as data timeliness, source data location, latency, and data volume.
- Work closely with data engineers to recommend optimal ETL/ELT strategies and integration approaches.
- Interpret and map source data from relational and NoSQL databases into appropriate dimensional warehouse models.
- Use modeling and query analysis tools such as Power Designer, DAX Studio, ERWin, ER/Studio, and SQL to build and iterate on dimensional models.
- Provide technical guidance on infrastructure choices that align with scalability, performance, and cost efficiency goals.
- Support and communicate directly with State Government clients, ensuring that warehouse solutions meet the specific needs of public sector programs.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in data modeling, database design, and data warehouse architecture.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field (additional qualifying experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis).
- Expertise in data warehouse modeling for dimensional structures, with working knowledge of relational and NoSQL data sources.
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks and data integration best practices.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and industry-standard data modeling tools.
- Demonstrated experience working with State Government clients or public sector organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's or Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience designing warehouses for large-scale public sector analytics or reporting platforms.
- Familiarity with secure data handling and compliance requirements in government environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, especially in client-facing roles.
Why Join Us:
- Lead critical data infrastructure projects with major impact across State Government programs.
- Work alongside mission-driven teams solving complex public sector challenges.
- Flexible, fully remote work environment.
- Opportunity to architect scalable, future-ready data systems that directly influence public policy and service delivery.
If you are a Data Warehouse Architect who thrives in client-facing, mission-focused environments, we encourage you to apply and help build the future of public sector analytics.
