Pharmacy Medication Assistance Coordinator (Pharmacy Technician III)

As a Pharmacy Medication Assistance Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in bridging the gap between patients and life-sustaining therapies. This advanced Pharmacy Technician III role combines technical expertise with patient advocacy and program coordination to ensure eligible patients receive medications through manufacturer assistance or copay programs.
What You'll Do:
Serve as the primary liaison between medication assistance programs, clinic staff, and pharmacy teams
Facilitate the application, processing, and tracking of manufacturer medication assistance prescriptions
Reconcile medication charges for clinic-administered medications under assistance programs
Coordinate application of copay assistance funds to eligible outpatient charges
Maintain complete and compliant audit-ready documentation
Monitor program compliance and adapt workflows to evolving medication assistance guidelines
Collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy leadership to streamline operations and improve patient outcomes
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 2 years of relevant pharmacy experience
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) and current certification status
Strong technical skills for operating pharmacy systems and electronic records
Strong communication skills for collaborating with clinic, manufacturer, and pharmacy teams
If driving is required, must meet and maintain requirements of the Fleet Driving Safety and Compliance Policy
Demonstrated experience in pharmacy operations, supply chain, prior authorizations, customer service, or sterile compounding (depending on focus area)
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge in areas such as:
Pharmacy Supply Chain
Health System Reimbursement and Finance
Health System IT Operations
Prior Authorization Processes
Sterile Compounding (hazardous and non-hazardous)
3+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician II or equivalent
Completion of multiple PTCB certifications
Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and problem-solving initiative
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
