Position Overview
Due to expansion, we are seeking a Senior Manager for Municipal Engineering to lead and oversee the planning, design, and execution of municipal infrastructure projects. This leadership role requires deep technical expertise, strong project management skills, and a commitment to ensuring all projects meet the latest industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Lead the planning, design, and execution of municipal projects—including roads, stormwater management, and public infrastructure—ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including permitting and municipal stormwater management rules.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff, promoting the application of best practices and compliance with industry standards.
- Client Representation: Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal clients, representing municipalities as a municipal or board engineer at public meetings and providing expert advice on engineering and compliance matters.
- Documentation & Quality Assurance: Prepare, review, and approve engineering reports, proposals, specifications, and contract documents, ensuring all deliverables meet required standards.
- Project Management: Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective completion, utilizing standardized procedures for quality and safety.
- Business Development: Support business development by identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client presentations.
- Site Oversight: Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure adherence to design specifications and regulatory standards.
- Community Engagement: Participate in public outreach and education initiatives as required by municipal regulations, supporting community awareness and compliance.

Salary range: $140,000.00-190,000.00
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one
- 10+ years of experience in municipal engineering, including experience as a municipal or board engineer
- Extensive knowledge of municipal infrastructure design, permitting, and construction processes, including compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Strong project management skills in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Experience in proposal preparation, client interface, and business development
- Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities
- Experience with regulatory agencies and permitting processes in New Jersey
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites and municipal meetings as needed
