Position Overview 

Due to expansion, we are seeking a Senior Manager for Municipal Engineering to lead and oversee the planning, design, and execution of municipal infrastructure projects. This leadership role requires deep technical expertise, strong project management skills, and a commitment to ensuring all projects meet the latest industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Project Oversight: Lead the planning, design, and execution of municipal projects—including roads, stormwater management, and public infrastructure—ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards. 

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including permitting and municipal stormwater management rules. 

• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff, promoting the application of best practices and compliance with industry standards. 

• Client Representation: Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal clients, representing municipalities as a municipal or board engineer at public meetings and providing expert advice on engineering and compliance matters. 

• Documentation & Quality Assurance: Prepare, review, and approve engineering reports, proposals, specifications, and contract documents, ensuring all deliverables meet required standards. 

• Project Management: Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective completion, utilizing standardized procedures for quality and safety. 

• Business Development: Support business development by identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client presentations. 

• Site Oversight: Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure adherence to design specifications and regulatory standards. 

• Community Engagement: Participate in public outreach and education initiatives as required by municipal regulations, supporting community awareness and compliance.

Salary range: $140,000.00-190,000.00

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field 

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one 

• 10+ years of experience in municipal engineering, including experience as a municipal or board engineer 

• Extensive knowledge of municipal infrastructure design, permitting, and construction processes, including compliance with relevant standards and regulations 

• Strong project management skills in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation 

• Experience in proposal preparation, client interface, and business development 

• Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities 

• Experience with regulatory agencies and permitting processes in New Jersey 

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites and municipal meetings as needed
