Job Summary:
The Environmental Health and Safety Manager is a strategic leader responsible for developing, implementing, and advancing a comprehensive health, safety, and regulatory compliance program across the organization. This role ensures full adherence to Federal and State OSHA regulations, and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards. Serving as a subject matter expert in occupational health, Worker's Compensation, emergency preparedness, and DOT compliance, the manager drives a proactive safety culture, minimizes risk, and enhances operational resilience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the organization's health and safety programs with a focus on employee well-being, operational compliance, and regulatory alignment.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA, Worker's Compensation, and DOT standards across all operational locations.
- Coordinate and oversee all health and safety initiatives, engaging leadership and cross-functional teams to drive adoption.
- Represent the organization during OSHA inspections or other official regulatory site visits.
- Ensure company-wide compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and state regulations governing commercial beverage delivery operations.
- Serve as the primary DOT compliance resource for transportation supervisors, warehouse leadership, and delivery teams.
- Maintain driver qualification files, monitor hours-of-service using JJ Keller systems, and manage random drug and alcohol testing programs.
- Lead DOT audit preparedness and coordinate responses to inspections or compliance reviews by federal or state agencies.
- Investigate accidents and violations, drive root-cause analysis, and implement corrective action plans to improve safety.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency preparedness programs including fire prevention, tornado safety, and workplace violence response.
- Administer and monitor workers' compensation programs, including case management, claim approvals, and coordination with third-party administrators.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years previous experience
- Distribution and/or Manufacturing experience is desired
- Minimum of Associate's Degree in EHS
- (Required) Valid Driver's License
- (Preferred) Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Occupational Safety & Health Certified
Base Compensation:
$75K-$100K/yr.
Potential Other Compensation (based on position eligibility):
