Job Description
The Coordinator, Insurance Credentialing will be responsible for coordinating provider enrollment and re-credentialing activities for Valley Health. Position will require confidentiality, professionalism and accountability be held as it has significant access to confidential employee, patient, organizational, and financial information. Individual must act independently and in an organized fashion to coordinate activities related to provider enrollment and credentialing as well as maintain follow-up correspondence related to those activities. This could include but not limited to reviewing incoming or outgoing documentation, preparing and updating various reports and summaries, keeping the CAQH (Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare) database up to date, answering telephone calls, responding to emails and faxes in a timely fashion.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Education beyond high school level or work experience demonstrating administrative skills required
Experience
2 years - Healthcare administration demonstrating progressive levels of responsibility preferred experience in human subject research
Experience working in a healthcare related administration or coordinator role for a minimum of 2 years preferred
Experience within Human Subject Research preferred
Certification & Licensures
National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) Credentialing Specialist Certification (CPCS) preferred
Qualifications
- Proficient in spelling, grammar and punctuation • Proven database management skills • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred • Strong situation analysis skills and ability to communicate effectively on a wide range of levels. • Excellent Critical Thinking, Time-Management, and Communication skills • Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact professionally with staff, physicians, consumer, surveyors, and public officials • Must exhibit competency in credentialing software within 30 days of hire • Knowledge of medical terminology • Current knowledge of Joint Commission and NCQA standards and credentialing process
