We are looking for a business-minded and detail-oriented compliance expert to support LiveRamp's Data Ethics (Privacy) Program. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the ethical use of data across our platforms and compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
You will:
Lead cross-functional initiatives to conduct privacy reviews of data flows and advise the business on privacy requirements and privacy best practices and controls.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to establish privacy by design (PbD) safeguards.
Advise on the application of data subject rights (e.g., access, opt out, deletion, correction) throughout the data life cycle.
Lead or significantly contribute to the development of, advise on, and maintain privacy and data protection documentation including, PIAs, data protection assessments, data minimization and data retention policies, privacy notices and policies, and others.
Design and deliver training, guidelines, and best practices on privacy and data protection matters for both legal and non-legal teams.
Build strong relationships with leaders across functions and gain a deep understanding of each team's operations to integrate privacy best practices.
Stay updated on changes and developments in privacy laws, regulations, standards, and guidance, and adjust guidelines for business practices and processes accordingly.
About you:
Bachelor (undergraduate) degree in a relevant field (Law, Business, Ethics, or others), JD, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Minimum 5+ years of experience in a combination of several of the following: data ethics, privacy, data protection, data governance, data management, legal compliance, or related areas, OR equivalent relevant experience combined with a demonstrated interest in data ethics and privacy.
Understanding of data protection requirements, including US privacy laws and common privacy principles across global laws and regulations, and an understanding of data privacy rights.
Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify technical content for diverse audiences, including business teams, legal departments, regulators, etc.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
Team player with willingness to quickly pivot as the privacy landscape shifts.
Preferred:
Privacy certifications or other similar privacy certifications (e.g., CIPM, CIPT, CISSP, CIPP/US, and/or CIPP/E certifications).
Strong understanding of the data and privacy landscape, proficiency in complex data flows, and the ability to devise creative solutions for global privacy and data protection.
Knowledge about self-regulatory frameworks of IAB, NAI, DAA, ANA.
Familiarity with online and programmatic advertising.
Familiarity with AI and machine learning privacy considerations.
Experience working with SaaS at a global tech company.
Experience preparing and presenting reports to senior level management
Ability to influence and drive organizational change regarding privacy and data ethics.
Team player with willingness to quickly pivot as privacy landscape shifts
Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
The approximate annual base compensation range is $95,500 to $111,500. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, geography, as well as internal equity among our team.
