Job Description

Job/Position Summary

The Quality Inspection Technician performs various audits and inspections of incoming components and finished goods through sampling and inspection for conformance to specification and standards. In addition, this position oversees the in-process manufacture of promotional assembly finished goods; including sets, displays and prepacks. This position assists to resolve quality problems highlighted and/or uncovered by routine line duties.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, finished goods.

  • Ensure that lab cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.

  • Perform visual inspections of finished products using a microscope.

  • Develop and implement programs to address quality problems related to production, incoming materials, or any other contributor to product quality.

  • Catalogue defect modes and drive Operations focus for ongoing yield improvements on glass wafers.

  • Review customer specifications for product performance and quality.

  • Assist production and process personnel in development of programs to address problems related to production, materials, safety, and quality.

  • Coordinate and network with operations team to plan work, set targets and ensure finished products meet quality standards.

  • Reinforces Company's safety procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Inspect operations traveler to ensure all documentation is being performed and accurate.

  • Communicate with Operations and Program Manager to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Place non-conforming parts on hold.

  • Measure dimensions of product on glass substrates to verify conformance to specifications using approved methods.

  • Notify supervisors and/or engineering of production problems.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent discipline preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Able to inspect tiny parts on glass wafers using a microscope.
  • Dexterity to handle tiny parts using tweezers.
  • This position will require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in these roles will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship, US Permanent Resident or ability to meet contract-specific licensure requirements.

Physical/Working Requirements

  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day (where applicable).
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
