Job Description
The PreK-8th Grade Art teacher's responsibilities include sourcing art supplies, preparing lessons, and providing developmentally appropriate instruction on art techniques. She/he should also be able to supervise lessons to ensure that learners interact in a supportive and respectful manner. The teacher would need to be comfortable with technology integration, utilizing Chromebook and G-Suite applications.
Essential Functions
- Provide grade-appropriate instructional programs for students in grades PreK-8 in the field of visual arts.
- Maintains an attractive, organized, and engaging learning environment.
- Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan Course of Study.
- Uses relevant technology to support/enhance instruction.
- Maintains appropriate classroom management through positive behavioral interventions and supports.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress in PowerSchool.
- Provides regular and consistent communication with parents, students, staff, and administration.
- Performs assigned duties when needed for the supervision of students before, during, or after school including lunch duties, recess duties, dismissal duties, and any other duties assigned by the administration.
- Participates in faculty meetings, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education or higher.
- Current MSDE certification or able to obtain certification within 2 years.
- Knowledge of the Catholic faith is preferred but not required.
- Must be comfortable with technology to include GSuite, Google Classroom, Interactive projectors, etc.
Range: $35,000 - $50,000, Annualized
