Hybrid – Torrance, CAMoog Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our Actuation Design Engineering team. You will develop hydro/electromechanical and mechanical components and systems for flight control applications. Reporting to an Engineering Manager, you will have a 9/80 work schedule with a hybrid work option (3 days/week in the office) in Torrance, CA.

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will:
Develop new product requirements through consulting with customers and sales personnel.
Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.
Be an important contributor to a design proposal team in preparing a design, estimating costs, and helping to write the technical volume.
Operate as an important element in a team of creative, independent individuals, soliciting and being sensitive to design feedback.
Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.
Create reliable designs through a comprehensive experimental development test program.
Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports.
Consult on new product and market development efforts.
Maintain currency with materials technology, industry design requirements (Military, FAA, NASA, etc.), and modern design analysis tools.
When applicable supervise less experienced engineers and project/product engineering technicians.
Travel to customers as needed.
To be considered for this role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Minimum 8+ years of professional design/development engineering work experience creating designs of electromechanical and mechanical components
This job requires access to United States export-controlled information
It’d be great if you also had:
Experience in the aerospace industry
Broad background in design analysis, including stress analysis, kinematics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, and vibration
Experience with closed loop systems, servomechanisms, fracture mechanics and Computer Aided Design
DoD security clearance
Experience with Siemens NX software is a plus

Salary Range Transparency:
Torrance, CA $110,000.00–$160,000.00 AnnuallySalary Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
