JOB TITLE:         COORDINATOR OF ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

RESPONSIBLE TO: Superintendent

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 1. A valid Alabama certificate in the area of superintendent/principal, or supervisor.
2. 2. A minimum of five (5) years' experience in K-12 education as a classroom teacher and having administrative experience.
3. 3. A minimum of three years of supervisory experience.
4. 4. Professional experience or graduate work in education in the areas of curriculum development, supervision, and/or instructional practices.
5. 5. Experience in curriculum planning, implementation, evaluation, and successful supervisory experience.
6. 6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Implement a cohesive instructional vision consistent with the district's vision, mission, and goals.
2. Provide leadership in the development of a comprehensive, rigorous, standards-based curriculum.
3. Ensure a balanced assessment program on which data-based decisions are made.
4. Establish and maintain systems, processes, and practices that continuously review and improve curriculum practices in order to ensure student achievement.
5. Collaborate with other instructional leaders to ensure initiatives and practices are K-12 aligned.
6. Provide and implement professional development to support effective practices.
7. Supervise the selection and adoption of textbooks and curriculum materials.
8. Analyze and review budgetary data under the supervision of the Chief Academic Officer.
9. First Class Pre-K director and state liaison.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  Twelve Months 

SALARY RANGE:   Appropriate placement on current salary schedule.

EVALUATION:  Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provision of Board policy
