Job Description
JOB TITLE: COORDINATOR OF ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
RESPONSIBLE TO: Superintendent
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1. A valid Alabama certificate in the area of superintendent/principal, or supervisor.
- 2. A minimum of five (5) years' experience in K-12 education as a classroom teacher and having administrative experience.
- 3. A minimum of three years of supervisory experience.
- 4. Professional experience or graduate work in education in the areas of curriculum development, supervision, and/or instructional practices.
- 5. Experience in curriculum planning, implementation, evaluation, and successful supervisory experience.
- 6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement a cohesive instructional vision consistent with the district's vision, mission, and goals.
- Provide leadership in the development of a comprehensive, rigorous, standards-based curriculum.
- Ensure a balanced assessment program on which data-based decisions are made.
- Establish and maintain systems, processes, and practices that continuously review and improve curriculum practices in order to ensure student achievement.
- Collaborate with other instructional leaders to ensure initiatives and practices are K-12 aligned.
- Provide and implement professional development to support effective practices.
- Supervise the selection and adoption of textbooks and curriculum materials.
- Analyze and review budgetary data under the supervision of the Chief Academic Officer.
- First Class Pre-K director and state liaison.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve Months
SALARY RANGE: Appropriate placement on current salary schedule.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provision of Board policy
