The evenings Pharmacy Technician Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy technician team, managing workflows, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and coordinating training and development activities. This role aims to standardize pharmacy technician practices on the evening shift and serves as a resource for pharmacy technicians and leadership, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform all functions of a Pharmacy technician, as well as leadership functions.
- Support pharmacy technicians and coordinate regular meetings to communicate updates and foster teamwork across the system.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to pharmacy policies and procedures,
- Conduct regular audits to ensure regulatory and quality assurance compliance.
- Help develop and implement standardization of pharmacy technician practice, workflow, and processes across the system.
- Identify process problems and utilize problem-solving to create best practices
- Lead and coordinate system or technician projects and/or participate in projects as assigned.
- Coordinate standardization of technician onboarding and training for new pharmacy technicians and assist in determining their ability to function in all areas of the pharmacy department.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of training materials and/or other audio/visual materials for technicians.
- Monitor performance of technicians, provide feedback, and promote technician development.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Approved Pharmacy Technician Certification and active registration as a certified technician with the New York State Board of Pharmacy.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive issues and confidential information.
