Job Description

Location: The Hoy Center, 3100 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, VA

Reports to: Supervisor, Enhanced Services

FLSA: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts: Work 3-Days one week, 4-Days the other week, every other weekend rotation: Days 7am- 7pm, Nights 7pm- 7am

It is for residents whose health or well-being requires a higher level of support to enable them to be as independent as possible, only stepping in to provide additional care services and support when needed. Our Medication Aides perform duties according to accepted nursing practice necessary to provide the highest quality of resident care under the direction of licensed personnel. Empower residents to function as independently as possible in a supportive environment.

What You'll Do In This Role

  • Provide complete care of assigned residents
  • Dispense medications in our assisted living unit
  • Document pertinent information in the resident's record
  • Complete incident reports as needed
  • May serve as a team leader at times

The Experience You'll Bring

Required

  • Current Registered Medication Aide (RMA) License in the State of VA (or compact state), AND
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License in the State of VA (or compact state) is required
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or must obtain within the first 60 days of employment)
  • Flu-Vaccinated

Preferred

  • COVID-19 Vaccinated. As of now, the 2025-2026 COVID-19 vaccine formulation is being distributed to providers and pharmacies; however, it has not yet received official approval from the CDC. In Virginia, pharmacists may administer COVID-19 vaccines under the Virginia Board of Pharmacy's statewide protocols or with a direct order from a licensed medical provider. We encourage all new hires to consult with their healthcare provider regarding the most current vaccination recommendations. Please be aware that, depending on future CDC guidance or regulatory updates, we may require proof of the most recent COVID-19 vaccination as part of our ongoing commitment to health and safety.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to stand or walk for up to four hour intervals
  • Able to climb three flights of stairs
  • Able to lift 25 pounds
  • Able to physically handle the Medication Cart
  • Perform other duties incidental to the work described herein

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation Range: $20.00 to $22.00 (based on relevant experience)
