About the Role:
As the International Tax Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance to clients, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and assisting in the growth and development of our clients’ businesses. You will utilize available resources to drive timely execution, foster strong client relationships, and collaborate with the team to uphold excellence in service delivery. The International Tax Supervisor is responsible for oversight and management of the tax reporting, tax planning and compliance function.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform in-charge role on tax client engagements and deliver strategic planning projections for business clients and their owners.
- Experience and knowledgeable in related international tax laws, regulations, forms and filings that include Forms 2555, 1116, 8938, 5471, 8865, 8858, FinCEN Form 114 and CFC’s.
- Prepare Workpaper Templates utilizing Excel and other electronic data management tools to automate client engagements and ensure tax compliance.
- Manage and prepare corporate, partnership and individual tax returns from client data. Identify issues, missing information and resolve to finalize tax returns in a timely manner.
- Address Federal and State tax notices including requests for penalty abatement.
- Liaise with accounting staff to ensure financial data from financial statements is loaded and mapped correctly within tax software.
- Proactively manage client interface matters. Assist clients with their implementation of specific international tax structures and processes.
- Tackle complex tax returns with confidence and expertise, working independently while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Experience with pre-departure and repatriation tax planning consultations.
- Uphold and reinforce professional and technical standards, the Firm’s code of conduct and independence requirements.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required; Master’s degree in Accounting is preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification or Enrolled Agent (EA) or significant progress towards completing licensure preferred.
- At least 3 years of recent public accounting experience with an emphasis in tax.
- Experience with tax planning and compliance for individuals immigrating to the US as well as US expatriates working abroad.
- Effective leadership, interpersonal, organizational, technological, research and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively delegate work as needed and work well in a team environment.
- Experience with tax research databases such as BNA and RIA. Proficient in all tax compliance process software (Caseware, Depreciation Software or comparable programs) and standard tax workpapers.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
