Reports to: Senior Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Project Manager who will provide project support for large-scale construction projects, primarily in the new and exciting Power District development in Salt Lake City. Under the direction of the Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for independently overseeing one or more construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring that each project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Primary Duties
- Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business
- Coordinate with fellow team members to oversee clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project outcomes
- Report on project success criteria results, metrics, testing, and deployment management activities
- Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence
- Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships
- Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues
- Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs
- Effectively communicate with superiors, team members, clients, and other stakeholders
- Continue professional development in order to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practices
- Oversee project schedules and work with all stakeholders to mitigate risks and delays
- Monitor project expenses and financial performance, identifying and addressing changes in budget
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to optimize project costs
- Prepare project budgets and cost estimates
- Lead and motivate project teams, including construction crews, subcontractors, and support staff
- Conduct regular meetings with project stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and resolve issues
- Serve as the primary point for clients throughout the duration of the project
- Identify potential risks and obstacles that may impact project delivery or performance
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Experience & Skills
- 7+ years of experience in a Project Management capacity overseeing new-construction commercial and/or industrial projects exceeding $50M as a General Contractor or Owner/Owner's Representative
- Possesses deep knowledge of an urban high-rise construction project lifecycle — from design development through punch list / closeout. Urban high-rise experience can include residential/multi-family, office tower, and/or hospitality/hotel projects.
- Experience in new-construction Class-A high-rise office tower construction is ideal
- Proven track record in Change Order Management, Schedule, and Budget Oversight
- Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering — or equivalent experience — required
Physical Requirements
- This position requires frequent walking, standing, and climbing stairs in/around construction site, apartment homes, models, and properties
- This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions (to include but limited to, rain, snow, heat, hail, wind, and sleet), around hazardous chemicals, dust, dirt, and other particulates
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend large quantities of information, operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move, and carry up to 25 lbs. independently
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about office setting
