The Supply Chain function is essential to Tropicana Brand Group's success by enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products. By improving warehouse operations, optimizing transportation routes, and refining inventory management practices, the team plays a critical role in streamlining processes. Collaborating with other departments to align strategies, the Supply Chain team ensures that Tropicana meets customer demands while maintaining a high standard of performance and cost-effectiveness. Through their efforts, they contribute to both short-term achievements and long-term growth.
Your Next Pour: The Opportunity
We are looking to add a Manager, Supply Chain - Transportation to our Supply Chain team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the transportation budget and manage costs for a large geographical region, ensuring P&L performance aligns with the company's financial goals. Tropicana is looking for a critical thinker with exceptional communication, influencing and relationship management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Additional responsibilities include:
- Oversee the transportation budget across a large region, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
- Track and analyze transportation spend, negotiate carrier contracts, and implement cost-saving initiatives to drive P&L performance and maximize efficiency.
- Ensure reliable, on-time deliveries while optimizing routes, fuel usage, and service levels.
- Monitor operations to maintain high productivity and resource utilization, with a focus on continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments-including logistics, supply chain, and sales-to develop and execute transportation strategies that support company-wide objectives and drive long-term growth.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing transportation team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and innovation, while managing performance to meet departmental goals and support professional growth.
- Leverage transportation data and performance metrics to provide actionable insights, drive operational decisions, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and service improvement.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and champion a safety-first culture
- Lead initiatives to improve processes, adopt new technologies, and drive innovation within transportation operations.
The Perfect Blend: Experience
- 5 + years of experience in transportation management, with a proven track record of managing large-scale transportation operations.
- Significant experience in managing a P&L and driving cost-effective solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex transportation networks across a large region or multi-site operations.
- 5+ years of experience leading teams and developing talent in a transportation or logistics environment.
- Proven ability to motivate, develop, and lead teams to achieve performance goals.
- Strong ability to analyze transportation data, identify trends, and implement solutions that drive performance.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills to effectively work with internal stakeholders, third-party carriers, and senior leadership.
- Creative and strategic thinker capable of solving complex transportation challenges.
- Strong commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction and on-time deliveries.
- In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, including safety and compliance requirements.
- Experience in managing transportation across multiple states or regions.
- Background in implementing transportation technology solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Experience in managing both in-house and third-party transportation resources
Foundational Ingredients: Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field or 10 years relevant experience
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be located in surrounding area or willing to relocate for the duration of employment.
- Willingness to be onsite daily in the Tropicana warehouse
- Ability to travel as needed within the region to oversee operations, meet with carriers, and engage with teams.
