Job Description
Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor is currently searching for Server Assistants!
The Server Assistant is responsible for efficiently and respectfully resetting and clearing all tables in a professional and effective manner as guests leave the restaurant, as well as supporting other team members while giving exceptional customer service. Server Assistants are responsible for providing a clean and pleasant dining experience by clearing, sanitizing or resetting tables. They ensure that the restaurant is well stocked with necessary items such as silverware, plates, napkins, and cups of water glasses, among other aspects of the dining experience of our guests.
All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resorts policies, practices and procedures.
Job Duties
- Prepare dining areas before guests are seated.
- Serve water and any possible welcome aspect of service.
- Remove dirty utensils and replenish, as needed.
- Provide special silverware sets to families with young children.
- Maintain health and safety regulations at all kitchen and dining areas.
- Set and prepare tables for dining, including, but not limited to, folding napkins, cleaning and placing tableware, serving water, etc.
- Clear and sanitize tables and chairs immediately after guests leave, using approved methods and chemicals.
- Take dishware and glassware, etc. to appropriate areas for sorting and washing.
- Assist Server(s) and Bartender(s) with table service, including, but not limited to, serving beverages (where allowed), breads, etc.
- Support Food Runners, Hosts, Servers, Bartenders, and Expeditors when needed.
- Communicate with server and hostess to ensure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas. Use correct cleaning chemicals, for designated items, and company provided personal protective equipment according to OSHA regulations.
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Keep designated service stations clean and well stocked.
- Be compliant with all local, state, federal laws and regulation including those relating to food safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Sunseeker Resorts performs criminal background checks on all candidates. Candidates will need to be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. - Minimum age 18 years old.
- Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules.
- Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours.
- Experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment preferred.
- ServSafe Certification or equivalent preferred.

- Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to function well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines.
- Must possess mature personal discretion and sound judgment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to all grooming and uniform guidelines, including slip-resistant shoes
- Excellent customer service skills and an ability to communicate effectively, in English.
- Strong self-motivation, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Self-starter able to prioritize and handle various tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations.
- Ability to take direction and collaborate in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a high energy and demanding environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as with other team members.
- Able to work unsupervised for extensive periods, and to demonstrate good judgment when dealing with customers and peers.
