About the Role

The Senior Manager, Kitchen Innovation & Prototype is a strategic leader on our Kitchen Design and Efficiency team, responsible for shaping the future of our back-of-house environments. This individual will drive innovation and scalable solutions that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain our uncompromising standards on food quality. Working closely with the Head of Kitchen Design and Efficiency and our Process Engineer, this role ensures that initiatives are well-designed, strategically aligned, and executed successfully.

Collaboration is at the heart of this team-we value diverse viewpoints, bold thinking, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.

You will:

  • Partner cross-functionally with Culinary Engineering, Field Operations, Product, FSQA, and Growth to identify and implement workflow and design improvements.

  • Lead the design and rollout of scalable kitchen innovations, balancing cost, efficiency, and food quality.

  • Manage pilots and system-wide rollouts, including scheduling and coordinating cross-functional support.

  • Use data analysis and field observation to define and monitor KPIs for new initiatives and determine go-forward strategies.

  • Review and iterate on existing layouts to incorporate new equipment, product changes, or process innovations.

  • Collaborate with Real Estate and Construction teams to ensure approved changes are reflected in future site builds.

  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with broader organizational goals.

The Experience You Have

  • Deep background in construction, kitchen design, development, or project management within the restaurant industry.

  • Strong experience leading small teams or supervising cross-functional workstreams.

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives independently while navigating ambiguity.

  • Skilled at building strong working relationships across multiple teams and levels.

  • Comfortable using data and field insights to guide decision-making and drive innovation.

  • Familiar with tools like Microsoft Office Suite, Confluence, and Jira.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.

The Way You Work

  • You create bold, practical solutions with our people and customers in mind.

  • You move quickly and take smart risks, adapting in real-time to new insights.

  • You solve problems and make decisions grounded in data, field research, and intuition.

  • You gain trust through collaboration, clear communication, and thoughtful execution.

  • You rally teams around a shared vision and keep complex projects moving forward.

Base Salary: $149,000 - $157,000 per year.

Wonder Group uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.

Our hybrid model requires 3 days a week in the office. That said, many team members choose to come in more often to take advantage of in-person collaboration and connection. You're welcome-and encouraged-to be in the office up to 5 days a week if it works for you.
